A man’s untimely demise at the Park Plaza Hotel in Western Avenue W3 sparked a chemical scare, necessitating medical evaluation for six police officers who came into contact with a substance found at the scene.

Authorities were summoned to the hotel premises at 12:34pm on Saturday 11th May 2024 following the discovery of the deceased individual. While the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are being treated as unexplained, there are no initial suspicions of foul play. Police have identified the deceased and are currently working to notify the next of kin.

However, concerns arose when an item discovered in the hotel room prompted fears of potential chemical exposure. As a precautionary measure, several police officers who had been near the substance were promptly assessed by the London Ambulance Service (LAS). Fortunately, all officers examined were deemed to be in good health following the evaluation.

The precise cause of the man’s death and the nature of the substance found at the scene are yet to be determined, pending further investigation by the authorities.

A Spokesman for the Met Police said:

Police were called at 12:34hrs to a hotel in Western Avenue W3 after a man was found deceased.

The death is being treated as unexpected but is not thought to be suspicious.

Police know who the deceased is and are working to inform next of kin.

An item found in the room some officers were checked over by LAS as a precaution. They were all found to be fit and well.
