A murder investigation has been initiated following the discovery of a man’s body at an address in Queens Terrace, Southampton.

Police responded to a call shortly before 8:45 am reporting a man in need of medical attention. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 42-year-old man, a resident of Southampton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

As authorities work to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, a 54-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Ross Toms, the investigating officer, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured the public that efforts are underway to determine the sequence of events leading to the tragic incident.

Toms emphasized that, based on available information, the individuals involved are believed to be acquainted with each other, and there is no perceived broader threat to the local community. Nevertheless, an increased police presence can be expected in the area as investigations progress.

Residents are urged to cooperate with authorities conducting house-to-house inquiries and are encouraged to come forward with any information that may aid the investigation.
