Gogglebox Seeks Funny Southern Families for New Series

Gogglebox is on the hunt for its most exciting new cast yet – funny families from the South of England. The hit Channel 4 show, which has captivated viewers for nearly a decade, wants fresh faces to join its ever-growing clan of telly lovers.

Calling All Charismatic, Natural Celebs

Posting on Instagram, a producer revealed: “Looking for funny families in the SOUTH for new series of C4’s Gogglebox. I’m keen to chat with hilarious families, individuals or groups of friends for the upcoming series. Particularly interested in diverse, underrepresented groups. Get in touch!”

Executive producer Victoria Ray added more about what Channel 4 bosses want: “The ideal people are ones who don’t know they’re funny. We love charismatic, engaging folks who don’t see themselves as TV personalities. We like to pick people who don’t want to be on the telly.”

“It’s great when they have no filter because they don’t second-guess themselves. We want people you warm to – the kind you’d want in your living room.”

Why the South? New Territory for Gogglebox

Though the South West and South East have had representation from Giles & Mary and Michael & Stephen Webb, a proper Southern family is yet to hit the screen. This casting call hopes to change that.

How to Apply – and What Gogglebox Stars Earn

Channel 4 rarely opens public applications. A spokesperson said last year: “There is no way to apply to be on Gogglebox.” But rumours swirl that producers scout social media and keep ears to the ground. Got personality? You might get a surprise phone call.

Stars reportedly earn around £1,500 monthly per household, no matter how many appear on screen. This pay is divided among the group but can be boosted by social media endorsements, sometimes doubling their income.

Not a bad payday for just sitting down and watching TV!

Think you’ve got what it takes? This could be your family’s big break!
