At 6.48pm on Monday 3 June 2024, emergency call handlers received a report of concern for the welfare of a paraglider who may have lost control above the Wested Lane area.
Officers are yet to locate a pilot and remain at the scene.
Superintendent Nick Sparkes said:
‘Officers are looking to confirm if the pilot landed safely unaware of the concern for their safety, or if the public saw anything to aid emergency services.’
