An 85-year-old man, Jim Moore, has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of 81-year-old Patricia “Patsy” Aust. The tragic incident occurred in the Hawthorne Court area of Bangor, where Ms. Aust’s lifeless body was discovered at her residence on Sunday.
Mr. Moore appeared before District Judge Francis Rafferty at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court. During the brief hearing, he confirmed his name and acknowledged the charge against him. A detective inspector informed the court that there was evidence connecting Mr. Moore to the crime.
No Bail Application
Despite the absence of a bail application, Judge Rafferty ordered Mr. Moore to remain in custody. The accused is scheduled to appear before the same court again on June 26.
