Nigel Moore Prescod, a 44-year-old resident of Gordon Avenue in Hornchurch, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of assault by beating and attempting to pervert the course of public justice.
The sentencing, which took place at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday (June 3), followed convictions related to offences committed against a woman in Woolwich during March and April of this year, as outlined in court documents.
According to the prosecution, Prescod engaged in a series of acts aimed at influencing the victim and obstructing the course of justice. These actions included sending the victim money, making threats of violence, and attempting to coerce her to leave London.
Judge Philip Shorrock handed down a sentence of two years and three months in prison for Prescod’s crimes. However, it is expected that he will be eligible for automatic release after serving half of his sentence, with the remainder to be spent on parole.
