Missing Mail Columnist and TV Star Dr Michael Mosley Sparks Massive Search on Greek Island
Renowned Mail columnist and TV diet expert Dr Michael Mosley has vanished while hiking on the stunning Greek holiday island of Symi. The 67-year-old set off on a coastal walk from St. Nicholas Beach at 1:30pm on Wednesday but never returned.
Alarm Raised After Evening Failure to Return
Dr Mosley’s wife, Dr Clare Bailey, sounded the alarm when he didn’t come back by 7:30pm. Local police launched an overnight search along his route but found no sign of him. Fears are growing that he may have “fallen from a height.”
In response, authorities dispatched a specialist search and rescue team from Athens equipped with drones and high-tech gear to scour the area.
Local Community Joins Hunt for Missing TV Doctor
A Symi community Facebook group has appealed for help, urging anyone with information to come forward. They shared an image of Dr Mosley dressed in shorts, a blue polo shirt, baseball cap, and sunglasses.
“Have you seen this man? He set off for a walk back from St Nick’s at about 1:30pm and hasn’t been seen since. His friends are worried as it’s now been six hours since they last had contact.”
Search Intensifies for BBC Health Guru
Dr Mike Mosley is a familiar face to millions thanks to his BBC appearances on This Morning, The One Show, and the health podcast Just One Thing. The island’s coast guard and local rescue team EMAK are fully involved as the search goes on.
The public are urged to stay alert and report any sightings immediately.
