Authorities are appealing for information following a serious road collision that left a 12-year-old boy with severe injuries in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 23, at approximately 5.40pm.

The young boy was riding a black electronic scooter on Kinnersley Street, heading towards Maltby Street. At the junction of Maltby Street and Macbean Street, a black VW Touareg collided with the scooter.

Disturbingly, the driver of the Touareg did not remain at the scene of the collision. Police are now seeking information about the vehicle and its driver. The registration number of the Touareg is SP57 NCF.

The child sustained multiple injuries, including a skull fracture, an open head wound, a brain bleed, a fractured collarbone, a fractured right knee, a fractured left leg, and lacerations to his right leg.

He was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Officers are urging the driver of the vehicle to come forward voluntarily. Additionally, they are appealing to witnesses who may have seen the collision or have relevant footage from CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dashcams.
