Saltdean Lido Shuts for Major TV Shoot Inspired by Nick Cave Novel

The iconic Saltdean Lido will close its doors for two days to film a new TV series based on a novel by music legend Nick Cave. The Grade II-listed lido announced on social media it will be off-limits to the public on July 1 and 2 for a “large-scale film production shoot.”

Pool and Cafe Closed but Early Swims for Season Ticket Holders

During the filming, both the pool and café will be closed to visitors. But season ticket holders get exclusive early access, able to swim from 7:00 to 9:00 AM BST on both days. A small silver lining for loyal swimmers.

Big Bucks for Lido’s Future from Filming Pay Day

The lido’s management is buzzing about the shoot’s “significant financial incentives.” They plan to pump this money back into improving the lido’s facilities, equipment, programme, and staff. A win-win for the historic venue and fans alike.
