Massive Drug Bust Rocks Sussex: Eight Held in Multi-Town Raids

Sussex Police have dealt a hefty blow to drug crime with a major crackdown across West Sussex on Wednesday, 26 June. The Community Investigation Team (CIT) swooped on properties in Arundel, Brighton, Crawley, Peacehaven, and Shoreham, seizing thousands of pounds worth of illegal substances in a well-planned intelligence-led sting.

Eleven Warrants Executed, Eight Arrested

The operation involved 11 search warrants, leading to the arrest of eight men linked to importing and supplying cannabis. All suspects have been bailed pending further investigations. Officers uncovered more than a kilogram of cannabis, over £60,000 in cash, weapons, Class A drugs, and seized vehicles during the raids.

Hundreds of officers were deployed, highlighting the seriousness of the crackdown on organised drug importation networks operating in Sussex.

Detective Inspector Praises Team Effort

“This day of action shows our robust stance on organised drug crime and the importance of CIT in reducing drug-related harm in our communities,” said Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs. “Our officers and staff worked extremely hard to make arrests and recover key evidence.”

He added: “CIT will investigate every warrant thoroughly and do all we can to charge suspects and bring them to court.”

Ongoing War on Sussex Drug Lines

This sweeping operation marks a major step forward in Sussex Police’s mission to dismantle county drug lines and organised crime gangs. The force remains resolute in protecting communities and stamping out illegal drug trade across the region.
