Family Pays Tribute to ‘Outgoing and Funny’ Raymond Who Died Following Easterton Incident

The family of Raymond Jr Groves, a man who died following an incident at a house in Easterton, near Devizes, have paid tribute to him, remembering him as an “outgoing and funny” individual who was always there for those in need.

Incident Details

Raymond Jr Groves, 48, from Hartcliffe, Bristol, was pronounced deceased after officers were called to a house in Strawberry Fields during the evening of July 2. The circumstances of his death have led to a murder investigation.

Family’s Tribute

In a heartfelt statement, Raymond’s family said: “In loving memory of Raymond Jr Groves, also known as Boo. Raymond Jr was an outgoing and funny person. Always there for people when they needed a chat. His family and friends will miss him dearly.”

Ongoing Investigation

Helen Shakespeare, 53, of Strawberry Fields, and Anthony Hodges-Hillier, 33, of Brooklands, Royal Wootton Bassett, have both been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Letishia Goodwin, 29, of Strawberry Fields, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. All three individuals have been remanded in custody, with a trial set to begin in February 2025.
