A woman, child, and infant have been taken to the hospital following a house fire in Avery Hill this morning.
Firefighters responded to a blaze at a two-storey house on Holland Gardens at 11:10 am today. Half of the ground floor was destroyed by the fire.
The three individuals, who were suffering from smoke inhalation, had already left the property before the London Fire Brigade (LFB) arrived. They were transported to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
The fire was brought under control shortly before 12:30 pm. Fire crews from Sidcup, Lee Green, Bexley, and Plumstead fire stations attended the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade stated: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a house fire on Holland Gardens in Avery Hill. Half of the ground floor of the two-storey house was destroyed by fire. One adult woman, one child, and one infant suffering smoke inhalation left the property before the arrival of the Brigade and were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. The Brigade was called at 11:10 am, and the fire was under control by 12:29 pm. Crews from Sidcup, Lee Green, Bexley, and Plumstead fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
