Southport was rocked by chaos last night as violent clashes left several police officers hurt, vehicles in flames, and shops ransacked. What began as a typical evening quickly spiralled into mayhem, forcing a massive police response from local and neighbouring forces.
Merseyside Police Battle Escalating Violence
Merseyside Police confirmed the unrest escalated rapidly. They reported injuries to multiple officers, numerous cars set ablaze, and at least one shop smashed and looted amid the turmoil.
“A number of officers have been injured, cars set alight, and a shop broken into and looted in Southport this evening. This is completely unacceptable.
