Doncaster Man Jailed for 19 Years Over Child Rape and Sexual Offences
Lee Grant, 45, from Doncaster, has been slammed with a hefty 19-year prison sentence for a string of horrific sexual crimes — including the rape of a child. Grant, who lived on Junction Road, Stainforth, was found guilty of 10 out of 11 charges after a three-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court earlier this year.
Decades-Long Abuse Uncovered
Grant’s convictions cover two counts of raping a girl aged between 13 and 15, one count of raping a woman, five counts of sexually assaulting a woman, and two counts of indecently assaulting a girl under 14. Shockingly, the offences stretch back to the early 1990s and continued right up to the past five years.
Victims Praised for Bravery
Detective Constable Leanne Daffern, who led the investigation, hailed the victims’ bravery for coming forward. “The courage shown by all of Grant’s victims has put a dangerous predator behind bars,” she said. DC Daffern urged other survivors to speak out, adding one victim’s report sparked a full probe that led to Grant’s conviction.

Impact on Victims and Police Vow
The abuse left lasting scars. One survivor told how the ordeal “ruined her life,” causing long-term mental health problems. Despite overwhelming evidence, Grant pleaded not guilty, forcing victims to relive their trauma during the trial.
The police have reiterated their commitment to investigating all sexual abuse cases, no matter how old. They hope Grant’s lengthy sentence offers some closure, helping survivors rebuild their lives.
