Detectives investigating a fatal incident in Strabane have identified the victim as Kyle McDermot, a 24-year-old man from Ballymagorry. The announcement comes as part of an ongoing murder investigation following an altercation on Sunday, October 6.
Detective Inspector Hazel Miller, leading the investigation, stated that Mr McDermot died after an altercation in the Victoria Road area of Ballymagorry. “A young man’s life has been cut short, and a loving family are now left trying to come to terms with their grief,” DI Miller said, expressing sympathy for the bereaved family.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and remains in police custody.
