Three Boat Passengers Taken to Hospital After Incident at Sunbury Lock

 

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) has confirmed that three people were taken to St Peter’s Hospital following a boat capsizing at Sunbury Lock, near Wheatleys Eyot, earlier today (11 October).

 


 

The incident, reported at approximately 8.59am, involved a small boat with six passengers, prompting a significant emergency response.

 

 

Ambulance crews, including the Hazardous Area Response Team, attended the scene alongside police and fire services. Five individuals were rescued from the water, with three requiring hospital treatment. The conditions of the hospitalised individuals have not yet been confirmed.

The search for one missing person is ongoing as emergency teams continue to work at the scene.
