Police Appeal for Witnesses After Serious Collision in Wandsworth

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Wandsworth that has left a cyclist in critical condition. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1, on Tooting Bec Road near the junction with Franciscan Road, SW17.

Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. The cyclist was transported to the hospital, where they remain in a life-threatening condition.

The 50-year-old driver of the van involved in the collision was arrested on suspicion of causing serious personal injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at an accident, and being unfit through drink. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the inquiry and are seeking any witnesses or individuals with dash cam footage that could assist in their investigation.
