Wandsworth Van Crash Leaves Cyclist Fighting for Life

Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious collision in Wandsworth left a cyclist critically injured. The crash happened around 10:30pm on Friday, November 1, on Tooting Bec Road near Franciscan Road, SW17.

Emergency Rush to Scene

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service scrambled to the scene. The injured cyclist was rushed to hospital, where they remain in a life-threatening condition.

Van Driver Arrested on Multiple Charges

The 50-year-old van driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury, failing to stop at the scene, and driving under the influence. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the probe. They urgently want anyone who saw the crash or has dash cam footage to come forward.
