A rapid response by Kent Police led to the seizure of cocaine and multiple knives after officers were called to a violent incident at a property near Chatham’s High Street on Monday, November 4, 2024. Police received the call around 10 a.m. when a man reported being assaulted with a knife at the location, sustaining a minor facial injury.
Following the report, officers swiftly apprehended a suspect later that same morning. During the arrest, two officers were reportedly assaulted, but the suspect was detained, and a search of the property led to the seizure of three knives and approximately 50 deals of cocaine.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Miguel Fiorenzi of Meadowbank Road, Chatham, has since been charged with several serious offences, including aggravated burglary, wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in both a public and private place, possession of class A drugs with intent to supply, and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
Fiorenzi has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 6.
Kent Police praised the quick actions of officers in diffusing a potentially dangerous situation and removing drugs and weapons from the community. The incident underscores the ongoing efforts by Kent Police to address violent crime and drug-related offences in the area.
