Brutal Leeds Robber Caught After Violent Taxi Attack
A 20-year-old thug has been locked up for six years after savagely attacking a Good Samaritan who offered him a lift in Leeds.
Ride Turns Into Nightmare
Simon Kubalik, from Dulverton Place, Beeston, pleaded guilty to a terrifying robbery that took place in the early hours of April 25. Kubalik and a woman flagged down a man sitting in his car on Harehills Lane, asking for a ride to St Albans Road.
But what started as a simple lift quickly spiralled into violence. Once they reached their destination, Kubalik launched a brutal assault, punching the driver multiple times before stealing his wallet and phone.
Horrific Injuries and CCTV Leads to Arrest
The victim was left with horrifying facial fractures requiring several operations. Key CCTV footage helped police identify Kubalik and bring him to justice.
“This attack was so violent that it left his victim with multiple facial fractures which required several operations. I hope this outcome will be of some comfort to him as he continues his recovery.” – Detective Constable Joe Kendrew, Leeds District Crime Team
Kubalik was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court last Wednesday, bringing relief to the victim still recovering from the brutal ordeal.
