FBI’s Most Wanted Terror Suspect Nabbed in Wales After 20 Years on the Run
Daniel Andreas San Diego Caught in Welsh Hideout
Daniel Andreas San Diego, one of the FBI’s most wanted terror suspects, has finally been arrested in Wales after dodging capture for over two decades. The 2003 animal rights bombing suspect was picked up in Conwy, a quiet town near Wales’ northern coastline, at a rural property near woodland. The U.K. National Crime Agency’s Joint International Crime Centre led the operation alongside U.S. authorities.
FBI Boss Declares: No Fugitive Is Safe
FBI Director Christopher Wray hailed the arrest as a victory for justice. He said, “Daniel San Diego’s arrest after more than 20 years as a fugitive for two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable. There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way.”
The Bombings Behind the Manhunt
San Diego was linked to two explosive attacks in Northern California back in 2003:
- August 2003: Two bombs were planted at Chiron Inc. offices in Emeryville. One detonated early morning, while a second device—possibly targeting first responders—was defused before exploding.
- September 2003: A nail-packed bomb exploded at a company in Pleasanton, causing property damage but no injuries.
He was charged in 2004 with multiple counts including destroying property with explosives and using destructive devices in a crime of violence. San Diego allegedly had links to extremist animal rights groups.
Two Decades on the Run Ends in Court
A federal warrant was issued in October 2003, but San Diego vanished into thin air—considered armed and dangerous throughout. His arrest in Wales has sparked extradition proceedings back to the U.S. He appeared in a UK court on Tuesday and remains in custody as legal battles unfold.
This stunning capture ends a relentless global manhunt and proves no fugitive can hide forever. Stay tuned for updates on his extradition and upcoming trial.
