Police have launched an investigation following a late-night shooting on Violet Road in East London. Officers responded to reports of a man being shot in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Large Police Presence
A significant police cordon remains in place with Violet Road currently blocked in both directions at the junction with Cranwell Close. The Tesco Express in the area has also been temporarily closed by police order.

Specialist crime scene teams, including Met Police dog units, are conducting investigations at the scene.
Transport Disruptions
Bus routes 108 and N108 have been affected due to the ongoing police activity. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes while the area remains cordoned off.

Public Reactions and Social Media
The incident follows the circulation of a video on social media earlier in the week, reportedly depicting a mental health crisis in the same area. Residents have expressed concern about escalating tensions and crime in the vicinity.
Awaiting Official Statements
The London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police have been contacted for a statement regarding the shooting. At this stage, no updates have been provided about the condition of the individual involved or whether any arrests have been made.
