Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Battersea that claimed the life of a young woman.
Emergency services were called to Silverthorne Road, SW8, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, 1 August, after reports of an injured woman in the road.
Victim Identified
Upon arrival, officers and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) found 23-year-old Carolina Ramirez Jimenez with a serious head injury. She is believed to have been the pillion passenger on a Yamaha motorbike.
Despite being rushed to a south London hospital, Carolina tragically succumbed to her injuries. Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
Investigation Details
No vehicles that may have been involved in the incident were found at the scene, prompting detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command to launch an extensive investigation.
They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was in the area and may have seen the motorbike or a dark-coloured Range Rover.
Detectives are also appealing for dash cam footage or other information that may help the investigation.
Arrests Made
Two men, aged 23 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences, including causing death by dangerous driving. They have been bailed while further enquiries continue.
