National Highways warns of delays up to an hour and a half, with queues stretching for five miles. Traffic is also backing up towards the Dartford Crossing, adding to the misery for commuters.

Follow Diversions or Brace for Gridlock

Drivers heading anti-clockwise are told to take the Hollow Square diversion:

  1. Leave M25 at J29 onto A127 towards London.
  2. At “Gallows Corner,” turn left and take the 4th exit onto A12 towards Harwich.
  3. Stay on A12 and take the M25 exit slip road.
  4. Rejoin the M25 at junction 28.

Motorists are urged to leave extra time or seek alternative routes.
