Tragic Woolwich Bus Stabbing: Teen Killed After 27 Knife Wounds

A 14-year-old boy, Kelyan Bokassa, was brutally stabbed 27 times on a Woolwich bus, dying instantly. The attack happened on January 7, shortly before 2:30 pm, aboard a route 472 bus on Woolwich Church Street, as Kelyan was heading home from school.

Two Teens Charged with Murder

  • A 16-year-old boy appeared at Bromley Youth Court charged with murder. He remains in custody and will next face the Old Bailey on Monday.
  • A 15-year-old boy also faced the same court on Thursday, charged with murder.

A 44-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of helping an offender, has been released under investigation.

Brutal Attack and Police Appeal

Police rushed to Woolwich Church Street near the ferry after Kelyan was attacked. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he died from a fatal wound to his femoral artery. The Metropolitan Police are asking for witnesses to come forward as they continue their investigation.

Community Mourns Kind-Hearted Kelyan

Kelyan’s mother, Mary Bokassa, described him as “kind and caring” who loved football. She tearfully said:

“I can’t believe he is gone. I cannot believe it.”

Friends and family held a vigil near the bus stop last week, remembering Kelyan’s pure heart. One friend said:

“He had a pure heart and would always be there for you.”
