A terrifying armed robbery at a local Eltham shop left the owner injured in a brutal attack on Sunday morning, December 10.
Gun-Wielding Thug Strikes at Shaw Bridge Local
The drama unfolded just before 11am at Shaw Bridge Local on Shawbrooke Road, South East London. The masked suspect stormed the shop armed with a gun, reportedly hitting the owner over the head with the weapon before making off with cash.
The victim suffered a head injury and was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police, including armed firearms officers, were swiftly called to the scene amid fears of a firearm threat.
Suspect Escapes – Police Hunt Underway
Despite the rapid police response, the attacker escaped before anyone could intervene. Officers quickly set up a crime scene, combing the area for vital evidence. No arrests have been made yet.
The Metropolitan Police are urgently investigating the robbery. They have released an appeal for anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting reference CAD 2430/10Dec.

“The local community has pulled together and given names to the police about who did this crime,” a resident said. “We are a very close-knit community and do not and will not put up with this type of thing. This is our little shop that serves our local community.”
