Harrow Man Jailed for Life Over Shocking Schoolgirl Kidnap and Assault

Adam Baillie, 39, from Spring Way, Harrow, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 10 years behind bars. He was found guilty of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl who he did not know.

Harrow Schoolgirl Snatched on Way Home

The terrifying attack happened on 19 April 2024. Baillie grabbed the young girl as she walked home from primary school in Harrow. He took her to his home and subjected her to a serious sexual assault. Thankfully, the brave girl managed to escape and alerted neighbours.

Neighbours quickly contacted the police. With their support, the girl identified Baillie’s property, leading to his swift arrest.

Guilty Verdict at Harrow Crown Court

On 16 October 2024, Baillie was convicted at Harrow Crown Court. He was also found guilty of kidnapping causing actual bodily harm.

PC Georgia Devaney-Brighton, Sexual Offences Investigative Techniques Officer, said: “Today we achieved justice for this courageous girl and I hope the severity of the sentence can provide some comfort to her and her family.

This was an appalling crime which shocked the local community. The victim showed remarkable bravery throughout the process. Her strength and cooperation were vital in securing the conviction. I want to thank her and her family for their trust and resilience during such a distressing time.”
