Staffordshire Paedophile Jailed for 27 Years After Brave Survivors Expose His Decades-Long Reign of Abuse

A 57-year-old man from uk/topic/ipstones/">Ipstones, Staffordshire, has been sentenced to 27 years in prison after being found guilty of a string of horrific sex offences against young girls and women. Nicholas McCabe’s campaign of abuse spanned from the 1990s to the 2000s, leaving a trail of traumatised survivors in its wake.

McCabe’s web of depravity unravelled after one of his victims bravely came forward in 2020. This courageous act prompted Staffordshire Police to launch a full-scale investigation, meticulously gathering evidence to bring the perpetrator to justice. As the inquiry progressed, other survivors, emboldened by the first complainant’s bravery, also came forward to share their harrowing experiences.

The sheer volume and strength of the evidence proved insurmountable for McCabe. Following a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, a jury found him guilty on all 25 counts he was charged with. These included eight counts of rape of a girl under 16, four counts of rape of a woman, eight counts of indecent assault of a girl under 16, three counts of sexual assault on a female aged 13 and over, and two counts of sexual assault on a female.

On Tuesday, 4 February, McCabe faced justice at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, where he was handed a 27-year prison sentence. He will also serve a 12-month extended licence period following his release.
