Valentine’s Day Horror: Woman Shot Dead at Knockholt Pub
“I Thought They Were Fireworks” – Landlady Recounts Shocking Valentine’s Day Shooting
Michelle Thomas, landlady of The Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, was preparing for Valentine’s dinner service when two loud bangs shattered the evening calm.
“There was so much commotion – screaming, shouting, crying. People were outside, on their phones. We tried to get people inside the pub to console them. It was early on in the evening; people had only just started to sit down,” Michelle recalled.
An off-duty firearms officer on site stepped in immediately, helping to control the chaos. Michelle praised him as “amazing.”
Community Stunned as Woman Killed in Pub Car Park
About 50 people were gathered at the pub on the evening of the shooting – 30 dining and 20 in the bar – when the tragedy struck.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was known to the pub but described by Michelle as “not a regular,” often visiting only during summer months.
The Three Horseshoes reopened on Sunday, but Michelle says the local community remains in “absolute shock” over the brutal incident.
