M25 Anti-Clockwise Delays: Multi-Vehicle Collision Causes Lane Closures and Long Delays

Drivers are facing significant delays on the M25 anti-clockwise this afternoon following a multiple-vehicle collision between Junction 11 (Addlestone) and Junction 10 (Byfleet).

The incident has resulted in the closure of lanes 3 and 4 (of 4) while Traffic Officers work at the scene. Recovery teams have been dispatched and are en route to clear the affected vehicles.

Up to 45-Minute Delays Reported

The lane closures are causing considerable congestion, with delays currently estimated at up to 45 minutes on the approach to the incident. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible and to plan for extra travel time.

A spokesperson for National Highways confirmed: “Lanes 3 and 4 are closed due to a multi-vehicle collision. Our traffic officers are on the scene managing the incident, and recovery has been arranged and is on its way.”

Emergency Services Responding

It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved or if there have been any injuries. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, have been called to the scene to assist with the response.

Traffic Diversions and Alternative Routes

Drivers are being advised to consider alternative routes to avoid the area and to use Junction 12 for diversions if possible. Congestion is expected to build further as the evening rush hour approaches.

National Highways has also issued the following advice for drivers:

  • Allow extra travel time if you are heading in the direction of J10-J11.
  • Check live traffic updates before setting off.
  • Use alternative routes, including local A roads, where possible.
