Cannabis Plants Seized as Police Raid Property in Dover

Police have seized 250 cannabis plants following a raid on a property near Maison Dieu Place in Dover, disrupting what officers described as a “sophisticated” cannabis cultivation operation.

The raid took place on Wednesday afternoon after Kent Police received intelligence from the local community through the My Community Voice platform. Acting on the tip-off, beat officers executed a warrant at the property, uncovering an extensive cannabis grow house.

Photographs released by Kent Police show rows of mature cannabis plants, along with high-powered lights and ventilation systems commonly used in illegal cultivation operations.

Sergeant Gavin Rolfe, who led the operation, praised the role of community intelligence in dismantling the grow:

“We take all information we receive from the local community seriously and, on this occasion, it has resulted in a sophisticated cannabis cultivation being dismantled, disrupting the work of organised crime.

“I urge anyone who has suspicions that drugs may be being produced or sold in their area to contact us so we can take action.”

Police confirmed that the seized plants are part of an ongoing investigation, but no arrests have been reported at this time.

How to Report Suspicious Activity

Kent Police encourages residents to report any signs of illegal drug activity. Suspicious signs of cannabis cultivation can include:

  • Strong smells of cannabis
  • Blacked-out windows or covered vents
  • Excessive condensation on windows
  • Constant low-level humming noises from ventilation equipment
  • Frequent visits to the property at odd hours

Anyone with information is urged to contact Kent Police on 101 or through the My Community Voice platform. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
