Two Teenage Boys Charged After 16-Year-Old Stabbed in Bersted

Two teenage boys have been charged with wounding with intent following the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Bersted, near Bognor Regis, on Monday evening (February 24).

Incident Details

Emergency services were called to Frandor Road at 7:35 pm, where they found the 16-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment and is now in a stable condition.

Arrests and Charges

Shortly after the incident, two teenage suspects, aged 16 and 14, were arrested. They have now been charged with wounding with intent. Additionally, the 14-year-old suspect faces a further charge of possession of a knife in a public place.

Both teenagers have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 26.

A third suspect, also 16 years old, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and assisting an offender. He remains in police custody while inquiries continue.

Police Appeal & Ongoing Investigation

Sussex Police are continuing their investigation and urging witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said:
“We are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident and are asking anyone with information to report it online or phone 101 quoting Operation Cornflower.”
