York teen brutally attacked in unprovoked station assault

Shocking attack at York station

Harry Lee Powell, 21, was sentenced at York Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 1 December after admitting to a savage assault.

The court heard that on Friday, 30 October, Powell and a group of mates targeted a 16-year-old boy sitting quietly in the waiting room at York train station.

Spat on and kicked in the face

Without any warning or provocation, Powell confronted the teenager aggressively. He spat at the victim before delivering a brutal kick to his face with full force.

The teen didn’t fight back and tried to get away by moving to the platform. But the pain was so severe, he couldn’t complete his journey and had to be picked up.
