Multiple fire appliances were called to a serious flat fire in Barking on Friday evening.
Firefighters from London Fire Brigade (LFB) rushed to Chamberlain Mansions on Fields Crescent after reports of flames flickering from a second-floor property. Crews from Barking and surrounding stations attended the scene to bring the blaze under control.

Images from the scene show extensive damage to the flat, with windows badly shattered due to the intensity of the fire. It is currently unclear if anyone has been injured.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and investigations are expected to take place once the site is deemed safe.

“We were called to a fire at a residential property on Fields Crescent, Barking. Several fire engines attended, and our crews worked to extinguish the blaze,” the spokesperson said.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and residents have been advised to avoid the area while the response continues.
