Serious Crash on A50 in Uttoxeter: Woman Severely Injured

Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious collision on the A50 eastbound in Uttoxeter left a woman in her 30s with severe injuries. The smash involving a lorry and pedestrian happened around 7:30am on Monday, March 3, right by McDonald’s.
Emergency services, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, scrambled to the scene. The eastbound carriageway was shut for hours, snarling traffic until just after midday.
Victim’s Serious Injuries
The woman suffered serious wounds to her legs, head, and shoulder. She was rushed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for urgent treatment. Police confirmed her injuries, while severe, are not thought to be life-threatening.
Lorry Driver Helping Police Enquiries
Staffordshire Police revealed the lorry driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating fully. No arrests have been made so far.
“We are appealing for information following a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry in Uttoxeter. Anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage around that time is urged to get in touch,” a police spokesperson said.
Police Plea: Share What You Saw
The A50 eastbound closure caused major delays as investigators worked the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the patient received emergency care on site before hospital transfer.
“We attended the collision involving an HGV and a pedestrian with ambulance, paramedic officer, and air ambulance. The patient was treated at the scene and taken to hospital,” they said.
