Suspect Charged Following Sittingbourne Break-In

 

A man has been charged following a break-in at a residential property in Sittingbourne.

Kent Police were alerted shortly after 3:30 pm on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, after a local resident reported a man behaving suspiciously in Britannia Close.

The suspect allegedly entered a property but was disturbed and fled the scene on foot. Officers responded swiftly, and a man was detained nearby.

Following an investigation, on Wednesday, 5 March 2025, Nicholas Tyvesse, 21, of Recreation Way, Kemsley, was charged with attempted burglary.

He was also charged with the theft of a watch from a town centre store on the same day.

Mr. Tyvesse was remanded into custody and was due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 March 2025.

Kent Police continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activity in their area and remind the public to remain vigilant against burglary and theft-related offences.
