Stolen Audi Caught in Police Dragnet After Key Burglary
Three suspects have been nabbed after police tracked down a stolen Audi using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. The car was swiped in a cunning key burglary from Wilfred Avenue, Balderton, at around 7am on May 19, 2021.
High-Tech Hunt Ends at Industrial Estate
The stolen vehicle triggered ANPR cameras in South Muskham, alerting officers to its location. Cops traced the car to an industrial estate in Broughton, where they found it and arrested a 17-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, and a 19-year-old woman — all on suspicion of burglary.
Detective Warns: “Criminals Can’t Hide”
“It’s really distressing to experience a theft of any kind, so we’re glad the vehicle is back with its rightful owner,” said Detective Inspector Nick Hall of Nottinghamshire’s burglary team.
“Criminals need to be warned: we have multiple ways to track them down, sometimes days after the crime. They never know when or how we’ll come knocking.”
“We’ll use all resources and work with specialist teams to gather intelligence and crack these cases. Anyone with information is urged to contact us immediately.”
