Armed officers were deployed to Anerley Road, Penge in the early hours of Sunday morning (March 9) following reports of gunshots in the area.
Police Response
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they received a report of gunfire at just before 1am Officers, including armed response units, were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Authorities have cordoned off parts of Anerley Road as officers conduct searches and gather forensic evidence.
Ongoing Investigation
At this stage, it is unclear whether anyone has been injured or if a firearm was discharged. Police have not yet confirmed any arrests.
AMet Police source said:
“We are aware of reports of gunshots in the Anerley Road area and are currently investigating. Armed officers remain in the vicinity as a precaution. We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
