Met Police Officer Charged with Rape and Sexual Assault

A serving Metropolitan Police officer faces court this week after being charged with three serious sex offences. PC Nick Whitcombe, from the South West Command Unit, is accused of one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

Off-Duty Allegations Rock South West Unit

The alleged incidents took place while PC Whitcombe was off-duty on Tuesday, 9 April 2024. Two women are involved in the case, both receiving ongoing specialist support. Whitcombe was arrested the same day and immediately suspended.

Internal Probe and Criminal Case Underway

The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards is monitoring the case alongside the criminal investigation. A Met spokesperson said, “We are aware of the charges against PC Nick Whitcombe and can confirm that he remains suspended from duty. The matter is now subject to criminal proceedings and an internal review.”
