Man Arrested After Serious Head Injury Assault in Chatham
Violent Attack Shocks Meadowbank Road
A man has been charged after a brutal assault on Meadowbank Road, Chatham, left a victim with a serious head injury. The attack happened at around 3:30pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025, when a disturbance involving several people erupted.
Victim Struck with Object, Hospitalised
During the fight, the victim was allegedly hit over the head with an object. Emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene to treat the injured man before rushing him to hospital. Thankfully, the victim has now been discharged.
Suspect Caught and Charged
Ashley Richardson, 40, of Luton Road, Chatham, was arrested on the spot. He faces a charge of wounding with intent and has been remanded in custody. Richardson is due in Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

“Our officers responded quickly to the incident, and a suspect was apprehended shortly after arriving at the scene,” said a Kent Police spokesperson. “We take violent incidents very seriously and are committed to ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.”
