Former police officer pleads guilty to charges relating to indecent images

Former Wiltshire Police Constable Callum Denley, aged 20, from Malmesbury, has pleaded guilty to a series of charges relating to indecent images of children. The plea was entered today at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.

Denley, who was immediately suspended as soon as the force became aware of the offences, resigned from his position as a constable before his court appearance.

Details of the Charges

Denley faced a total of five charges, which include:

  • Making indecent images of children – including images classified as Category A, B, and C (with Category A being the most severe).

  • Possession of an extreme pornographic image.

  • Possession of a prohibited image of a child.

The offences relate to the discovery of indecent images, which were seized as part of an investigation conducted after the allegations surfaced.

Police Response

Following the discovery of the offences, Wiltshire Police took immediate action by suspending Denley from duty. He subsequently resigned, and the force has since issued a statement condemning his actions.

A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said:

“As soon as these allegations came to light, the officer was immediately suspended. He resigned prior to appearing in court. The force is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional behaviour, and any breach of these standards will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with appropriately.”
