Emergency Services Respond to Two-Car Collision in Beckenham

 

Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a road traffic collision (RTC) involving two vehicles at the junction of Jo Hayes Lane and Wickham Road in Beckenham this evening.

The incident, reported at around 8pm involved a car vs car collision with initial reports suggesting at least one person may have been trapped inside a vehicle.

London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and Metropolitan Police were all dispatched to the scene, where they worked together to assess and manage the situation. Firefighters were on standby to assist with potential extrication procedures, though it remains unconfirmed whether cutting equipment was used.

Witnesses reported a heavy emergency services presence and slow traffic in the area as the junction was partially cordoned off to allow for response efforts.

Status of Casualties

The condition of those involved has not yet been disclosed, and authorities have not confirmed the number of injuries. A spokesperson for emergency services stated that crews were working to make the scene safe and to ensure all parties received appropriate medical attention.

Investigation Underway

Traffic officers remain at the scene to investigate the cause of the crash. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes as delays are expected during the evening rush hour.
