Body Found in Hunt for Missing Cardiff Woman Paria Veisi
Tragic Discovery in Penylan
Police have confirmed a body was found in the search for Paria Veisi, 37, who vanished after leaving work in Cardiff on April 12. The grim discovery happened on Saturday, April 19, at a home in Penylan, Cardiff.
The investigation had already been upgraded to a murder inquiry. Two people are now charged in connection with Paria’s death.
Last Seen in Canton
Paria was last spotted around 3pm in Canton, Cardiff. Her disappearance sparked a major police search. Her black Mercedes GLC 200 was later found abandoned. Two acquaintances were arrested during the investigation.
“This brings our search for Paria to a sad and tragic end. Paria’s family, all those who knew her, and the local community will be deeply saddened and shocked,” said Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell.
Family liaison officers are offering support to Paria’s loved ones.
Two Charged Over Death
A 41-year-old man from Penylan faces charges of:
- Murder
- Preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH)
A 48-year-old woman from Australia Road, White City Estate, London is charged with:
- Preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body
- Conspiring to pervert the course of justice
Both appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today and have been remanded in custody. They are due at Cardiff Crown Court on April 22.
Community in Shock as Police Probe Continues
The Penylan community is reeling from the tragic news. Crime scene investigators remain on site as the probe deepens.
DCI Powell appealed: “Anyone with information should come forward and speak to officers at the scene or contact the police directly.”
