Police Appeal After Woman Punched in Face on Oxford Road, Swindon

Wiltshire Police are appealing for a woman to come forward after she was reportedly assaulted during a public altercation on Oxford Road in Swindon.

The incident, which took place at around 10am on Thursday, April 3, involved a man and woman arguing inside a grey Toyota Hilux near the Greenbridge roundabout. Witnesses say the pair exited the vehicle before the man punched the woman in the face. She then ran away through a nearby cut-through on Oxford Road.

A 28-year-old man from Swindon has since been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail while further enquiries are carried out.

Despite launching an investigation, officers have not yet been able to identify the woman involved and are now urging her — or anyone who knows her — to come forward.

“We are keen to speak to the female involved to ensure her safety and to progress our investigation,” a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said. “We also encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.”

Those with information are asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference 54250040474, or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
