Man Discovered Dead in Black Peugeot
A chilling discovery was made late Monday in East Yorkshire. A 46-year-old man was found dead inside a black Peugeot 207, concealed behind a hedgerow off a rural road near Driffield.
Humberside Police were alerted just after 8:25pm when a member of the public spotted a car parked suspiciously in a field near the B1249. Despite initial searches coming up empty-handed, officers found the vehicle near the york/" title="York" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">York Road junction after 11pm.
Police Launch Investigation and Refer to IOPC
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed. Police bosses confirmed they have voluntarily referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) – a routine step when previous police contact or response is involved.
At this stage, the investigation is ongoing with no confirmation yet if the death is suspicious.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers are keen to hear from anyone driving along the B1249 between 8:05pm and 8:25pm that evening. They are particularly after dashcam footage or any sightings of a black Peugeot 207 in the area.
