Mum-of-Two Charged in Acid Attack ‘Murder Plot’ Against Ex-Personal Trainer in Plymouth

A former criminal justice worker and mum-of-two has been charged in connection with a shocking acid attack and alleged murder plot targeting her ex-boyfriend, a personal trainer in Plymouth.

Paris Wilson, 34, previously employed as a probation officer and volunteer teacher at Dartmoor Prison, is accused of teaming up with an organised crime group to kidnap and murder her ex-partner, Danny Cahalane, 38.

Sulphuric Acid Attack at Victim’s Home

The brutal attack occurred on February 21, when sulphuric acid was thrown in Cahalane’s face while he was at his home in Plymouth. His young daughter was reportedly asleep during the terrifying incident. Police say Cahalane remains in hospital and has since been relocated for safety.

Court Appearance and Charges

Wilson, who lived on The Quay, Plymouth, appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court last week. She has been charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to kidnap, and participation in the criminal activity of an organised crime group.

She was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on May 12.

Background and Investigation

Once trusted to work closely with inmates, Wilson formerly helped criminals reintegrate into society through housing and employment services. She also volunteered as a literacy teacher for prisoners in Dartmoor.

A police source told The Sun:

“Paris was trusted to access the prison and worked closely with inmates. Nobody can believe she’s now locked up.”

Seven additional individuals have been charged in connection with the case. Some also face drug-related charges, indicating a broader organised crime investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police.

Public Appeal and Ongoing Support

Authorities have not ruled out further arrests as the complex investigation continues. Community leaders and safety organisations have condemned the attack and called for continued support for survivors of violent crimes.
