An intelligence-led traffic stop by police has resulted in the seizure of a vehicle being driven by a man with an expired provisional licence and no insurance.
The stop occurred during a routine proactive patrol, where officers acted on intelligence suggesting the driver may not be legally permitted to be on the road. Upon questioning, the male reportedly claimed he was “just test driving it around the block.”
Police weren’t convinced.
Vehicle Seized, Driver Reported
The vehicle was immediately seized, and the driver was reported for multiple traffic offences, including:

Driving without insurance

Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence

Operating a vehicle on a public road without supervision or L-plates
A police spokesperson commented:
“This kind of behaviour puts lives at risk. Driving without a licence or insurance is not just illegal—it’s reckless. Intelligence-led policing plays a vital role in keeping our roads safe.”
