A heavy police presence descended on Castlewood Road in London N16 this morning (7 May 2025) as officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Territorial Support Group carried out an early morning raid.
Multiple police vans were spotted lining the residential street just after sunrise, with officers seen donning riot gear and unloading shields from the back of the vans, preparing for entry into a property.
Sources at the scene report that officers entered at least one house during the operation. The full details of the raid have yet to be confirmed, and the Met Police have been approached for an official statement regarding the incident.

Residents described waking up to flashing lights and a strong police presence, with many observing the coordinated operation from their windows. Some noted the efficiency and speed with which officers moved to secure the area.
No official word yet on arrests or the nature of the investigation.
Images taken at the scene show several marked police vans from the Territorial Support Group parked on the road, with tactical gear and shields visible inside the vehicles.

The Met’s Territorial Support Group is a specialised unit often deployed for high-risk operations, including executing search warrants, public order incidents, and supporting anti-gang and anti-drug investigations.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether the raid is connected to wider operations across London targeting violent crime or organised criminal networks.
Locals on community social media pages expressed both concern and support for the police action.
One resident wrote:
“It’s scary seeing so many police vans on your street early in the morning, but I’m glad they are tackling crime head-on.”
Another added:
“Hopefully this makes the area safer for everyone.”
We are awaiting an official update from the Metropolitan Police. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.
