Police have provided an update following a lockdown incident at Haberdashers’ Knights Academy in Bromley, which saw a 13-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of common assault.
The incident occurred on May 16, when three pupils from another school reportedly entered the Launcelot Road campus without permission. In response, the academy initiated a lockdown as a precautionary measure, in line with its safeguarding procedures.
In a letter sent to parents and guardians, the school reassured families that none of the external pupils gained access to the school building and that the lockdown was carried out to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Police Response and Arrest
The Metropolitan Police attended the scene and later confirmed that a 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of common assault. She has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
A Met Police spokesperson said:
“The investigation is ongoing.”
No injuries were reported, and the school resumed normal operations shortly after the incident was resolved.
