Bishopstoke Bus Horror: Double-Decker Crashes into River, Nearly 20 Kids Hurt

A Bluestar double-decker bus packed with students plunged through railings and into the River Itchen in Bishopstoke this morning. Almost 20 children were injured in the shocking crash on Bishopstoke Road near Eastleigh.

Major Emergency Response in Action

The College 607 service, ferrying students from Barton Peveril College, was involved in the accident.

South Central Ambulance Service confirmed three patients were rushed to hospital in critical condition. Another 14 suffered less serious injuries and are being treated on the scene.

“We have sent multiple units to the 123 area while emergency care is ongoing,” a spokesperson said.
